Dear Family Farm Alliance Members and Interested Parties:

 WSWC Conference

The Western Governors Association and Western States Water Council (WSWC) are hosting an important conference in Salt Lake City in early October. Alliance President Patrick O’Toole will represent irrigation interests on the opening panel of the conference. Below is the memo sent to conference invitees by Craig Bell, WSWC executive director. The cut-off date for room reservations for our block of rooms reserved at the Sheraton City Centre in Salt Lake City has been extended to September 16, 2007.  I encourage that you consider attending this important event.

RE:  WGA/WSWC conference on "Water Policies and Planning in the West: Ensuring a Sustainable Future."

GREETINGS

We are seeing great interest regarding the upcoming WGA/WSWC conference "Water Policies and Planning in the West:  Ensuring a Sustainable Future."  We anticipate about 250 participants.  Space is limited, so if you have not done so yet, please register now to ensure your spot at the conference.  Visit the website at http://www.westgov.org. Also, if there are others you feel would have an interest, please forward this to them.

AGENDA

An updated agenda is also posted at the website http://www.westgov.org.

Most all of the speakers are confirmed, including Governor Huntsman of Utah. High level officials from the Administration are also expected to participate.

RESERVE YOUR HOTEL ROOM

The cut-off date for room reservations for our block of rooms reserved at the Sheraton City Centre in Salt Lake City has been extended to September 16, 2007.  The discounted rate is $109 single/double occupancy.  The group rate will be honored three days before group arrival and three days after group departure based on availability.

Reservation requests received after that date will be accepted on a space available basis, at the higher rate available at that time.  To reserve a room, call the hotel’s reservations department at 801-401-2000, and be sure to request the Western States Water Council room block for the special rate.  Again, space is limited; so please make reservations early.

We look forward to seeing you in October.
