FARMERS AND COASTAL FISHERMEN UNITE

When:  Oct. 20, 2006  at 6 PM

Where: Merrill Elementary School Gym

Members of the coastal fishing community who have been visiting with members of the Klamath Basin farming community this past summer will be here to present an open forum with farmers and farmer representatives. An informal alliance has been formed between these two groups in hopes of finding a solution to water problems in the Klamath Basin and fishing curtailment on the coast.

A summary of these talks will be presented outlining points of agreement, who we have presented these points to, and plans for the future. State Rep. Doug Whitsett will be present to report on any activities of the State Government which would affect these two groups. There will be time to hear comments or to answer questions.

All members of the farming community as well as any interested people are encouraged to attend.
