Hearing set on COB plant permit
Herald and News 10/7/06

An extension of an air permit for the COB energy plant in the Langell Valley will be the focus of a public hearing by the Department of Environmental Quality at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 10) at the Klamath County Government Center.

An information session will precede the hearing at 6 p.m.

DEQ issued the facility’s air permit in December 2003, which provided an 18-month window for construction. Extension of the permit would allow an additional 18 months for construction to begin.

The proposed facility, which would use natural gas, would be located more than two miles south of the intersection of Harpold Valley Road and West Langell Valley Road.

Written comment about the extension must be received by DEQ by 5 p.m., Oct. 17. Comments should be addressed to Air Quality Permit Coordinator, DEQ Eastern Region, Bend Office, 2146 N.E. 4th Street, Bend, OR 97701. For more information, call 54-388-6146 ext. 247.
