I'm thrilled to report that our team fed 300 Isaac victims and volunteers this morning. By lunchtime, the line stretched a quarter mile to our Mercy Chefs kitchen. We were able to feed 475 more people before our supplies ran out due to the transportation challenges we have faced in this area that is still devastated by Isaac.

We are re-stocking and will be ready to feed 800 people for dinner as we service three locations -- Slidell, Kenner and Baton Rouge. And then it all starts again Sunday morning and throughout the Labor Day weekend.

Conditions have been very challenging. The storm's slow path combined with the massive flooding have made this deployment one of the most difficult we have faced. Hundreds of thousands are without power. And now the heat and humidity have set back in.

I can't even express to you what it means to serve a hot meal to a victim of a natural disaster who is homeless or without power and has literally no place to turn.

This is one of the most practical ways you can help fellow Americans who right now are facing extremely difficult circumstances in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac.

If you want to help us, I would be greatly appreciative. Your gifts to Mercy Chefs are fully tax-deductible and will help us provide hot meals to thousands of families who are without power or homeless in the aftermath of Isaac. Please go here now to donate.

For now, thanks in advance for your help as we feed 800 people for dinner this evening -- and then provide thousands more meals throughout the holiday weekend.

May God bless you,
