KID new leadership is doing things right

Letter to the editor of Herald and News May 25, 2016 by Ken Schell, Klamath Falls

I am troubled by all the charges I read in the Herald and News pertaining to my Klamath Irrigation District Board representative.

l really appreciate the efforts he is making on my behalf. As a KID water user, I am pleased with what he is trying to accomplish. I have felt that, for the last several years, I have not been represented well on the KID Board. The majority had been making decisions that really didn't seem to be in my best interest. Now, we have new leadership and a new positive approach is being taken.

I feel like my water rights are being looked after and an attempt is being made to protect them. They are reallocating the district's funds in a different direction to accomplish the desired goals and making changes in the district's operations and management to accomplish the desired goals.

Naturally, changes sometimes upset people, but the changes they are trying to make are for improvement of the district. Some of the changes are adding expense and others are savings a great deal. I would like it known that I personally stand by his decisions.
