NRDC - The Organization Behind Most of the Natural Gas Opposition

The following article is well worth reading.  It notes that Frances Beinecke, the President of the Natural Resources Defense Council made $432,000 last year.  Her non-profit organization also reported having in excess of $232 million in assets and employed more than 100 people full-time.

Why is this important?  Because NRDC is the force behind the Open Space institute, the Catskill Mountainkeeper and the Riverkeeper.  All these entities are linked and represent the same individuals, primarily members of the Kennedy and Rockefeller families and the latter's friends from the Lew Beach area of Sullivan County.  If you check the names of the Boards of Directors of these entities you'll see what I mean - they are all the same people acting under different names and they are extraordinarily well funded and rewarding themselves handsomely.

They have also been giving jobs to their children.  Ramsey Adams, for example, who serves as the Catskill Mountainkeeper's paid Executive Director, is the son of John Adams, who is a board member not only of the Catskill Mountainkeeper, but also the Riverkeeper and OSI, of which he was the Founding Director and is currently chair.  Laurance Rockefeller is a NRDC Trustee.  He is heavily involved with OSI (partly funded with Rockefeller Brothers Fund grants) and the Mountainkeeper program (funded and managed as an extension of OSI). Renee Rockefeller (his cousin's wife) is on the Riverkeeper Board and helps manage the Rockefeller Family Fund.  Robert Kennedy, Jr. is a NRDC legal counsel and on the Mountainkeeper and Riverkeeper boards.  Frances Beinecke is a co-founder of the New York League of Conservation Voters (along with Laurence Rockefeller)  I could go on and on, but the pattern is obvious - these are all the same people doing the same thing thing but using different identities and it is not a pretty picture.  To get a better idea of the networks, one can simply visit the websites of these organizations and check out the "About" pages.  For those who are interested, the networking can also be tracked through:

These are the very wealthy people trying to take the bread off our table.

I see George Soros Open Society Institute is a major contributor. One more piece of the puzzle.

I see how they scam the system that was setup to limit 501 in their lobbying efforts, they have multple organizations under one leadership to increase the lobbying efforts and $$$ 3 fold.

What legal ramifications there are I don't know but will scratch around to see what I can find.

Great stuff, Kilgour.
Now, is anyone really surprised? No one from this forum, I would think.

What I would really love is for all the little people who believe in these "environmental" groups to finally see how they are being manipulated for the PROFIT of a few!! (And you know how profit is a dirty word with these folks)

"Public Servant" is an oxymoron.

Government employees on average make twice the salary as private sector employees [who pay their salaries through taxes; without us, there would BE NO "public servants"] and their unemployment rate is negligible.  And they have great benefit and retirement packages.
